Ultimate Power Leveling Essentials
Hey, Raff here. Many hours can be spent trying to customize your Rift Soul Tree builds, and who doesn’t want to just cut to the chase at the beginning without having to do all of the trial and error research? Like many games, Rift power leveling is simply navigating from level to level.
Getting your Rift Soul Tree builds setup correctly makes everything a breeze. Get them wrong and you spend your life in level restart Hell having to do level after level over and over again trying this and trying that (…I know, some of you actually do like playing the game, but we all have a little need for immediate gratification inside us don’t we?).
Those that have already started on the journey in Rift already know that there are four major callings: Warrior, Mage, Rogue, and Cleric. Within each of these callings is where the Rift power leveling starts and building your knowledge of how the Rift Soul Tree builds work can impact your performance. This is also where things go from easy to mind boggling with options up the wazoo.
Within the Soul Tree, there are potentially thousands of different combinations that one can configure for accomplishing the ultimate Rift power leveling. This is why people write about these things and exchange information…this stuff can get really, really complex!
Beginning with the selection of your calling, the next step is to configure your Soul Tree with three separate Soul Trees nested underneath the primary calling. You don’t need to be a math wizard to play the game, but sometimes I think it might help as the combinations of souls (9 possible souls to pick 3 from) and roughly 15-20 different characteristics within each soul.
One can see just how quickly the complexity of power leveling can get out of hand from a trial and error perspective. Allocating points to areas that will not be used can be a huge issue as sometimes the best defense is a good offense.
Suggestions such as the importance of getting pets should not be underestimated. Pets can take hits and tank for you when things begin to get nasty. Being able to cast freely while your pet is getting hammered means you can increase your damage count. Learning to do other seeming simple and unimportant tasks such as emptying your bags (the game only gives you so much bag space) means that you will need to learn how to quickly discard and/or sell at auction items that you may no longer need.
Tasks such as this will be done repeatedly – so learning tricks like this from the start will help you on your adventure.
So, when you have selected your calling and have started the process of defining you Rift Soul Tree builds, will you be a Cleric with Soul Trees setup for a Templar, Inquisitor, and a Cabalist? Will you decide to activate powers such as Creeping Remedy, Harsh Discipline, or Affinity for Death? Start you journey, but when frustration becomes the word of the day remember that there is help out there. A guide by professional rift mmo players seeks out critical information to help you overcome many of the major hurdles associated with the game. Good luck and even better skill!
